FUSE events are held throughout the year in venues across the area. Although based in Rye, we intend to be active along the coast of East Sussex and Kent where there are thriving creative communities looking to connect and collaborate on new opportunites to work together, exchange ideas and enjoy the company of like-minded creative and design professionals.

GARDEN DESIGN by multi award winning Kristina Clode was a fascinating and informative presentaion about the intricacies involved in creating beautiful, reliant and sustainable outdoor spaces against the challenges of a changing climate. Her work extends to all scale of project and she is currently working on a new iris garden in Yorkshire for the National Trust as well as many private, commercial and charitable works.

Talented polymath, PAUL BRASINGTON provided us with insights into a world where creativity will be challenged by an ever expanding artificial intelligence that can only be countered by an increased commitment to community and human interaction. Apocolype doesn’t have to be now!

The DESIGN SUSSEX Launch Event in the Silver Room at KINO, Rye
DESIGN SUSSEX was founded in 2022 and held a number of events and gatherings that saw us through the difficult post lockdown period. We are grateful for the support of KINO, Rye who let us use their mezzanine lounge and the private screening room. We also held events at The Globe, Rye Fine Wines and the St Mary’s Centre

An exclusive screening of the first animated film: The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926) with an introductory talk given by local illustrator and author, Oliver Brooks.

The RYE HOME DESIGN & DECOR DAY offered local homeowners the chance to engage with the spectum of services needed to carry out a house extension or refurbishment. Kindly sponsored by Rye estate agent: Phillips & Stubbs, we had contributions from James Robson Architects, Not Limited, Ami Maynard Interior Design, Portrait Kitchens, Rye, The Bathroom Shop, Tenterden, Clarity Construction and Fred, furniture design.
